Cookies....

Today, I thought I would make some of my famous double choc chip cookies. That seemed easy enough so off I went to the supermarket......

That was a drama in its self! First I discovered that Americans don't have Self Raising flour, but I know that I could mix either baking powder or baking soda to plain flour but the question was which one! Of course I could not find any so I went to get some help..... now I understand I have an accent but did not think it was that bad that people could not understand me, my conversation went something like this with the man in a Safeway uniform:

Leah: "Excuse me, do you have baking powder?"

Safeway Man: ....... (nothing just a stair)

Leah: "Baking Powder..... like what you put in a cake...."

Safeway Man: ....... (nothing for a good minute)...... Kait????"

Leah: "NO! Cake..... like birthday cake......"

Finally found it and of course I got baking soda! Then came home and looked up on the net to see how much I put in plain flour to make it self raising. Yep you need baking POWDER not SODA! so off I went again to the other supermarket because the dumb man at Safeway annoyed me way to much!

Finally I mad my cookies and they were worth all the drama! Yum!
